The Contractors Are Knocking
Most Contract Management Companies (Contractors) work behind the scenes on a near-constant basis to convince your hospital and senior living C-suite that they are the preferred foodservice management option. While operators may feel that a contractor taking over their hospital or senior living community is a distant possibility, AHF and our Self-Operator Project Team (Self Op Team) strongly recommend staying prepared. Having your numbers in order, building a strong relationship with your C-suite, and staying ready to present your value, could be the difference between the contractors getting a foot in the door, and the facility remaining self-operated.
More than that, staying prepared will make fighting a an actual contractor threat that much easier. AHF’s Self-Op Team have developed critical tools and resources to do just that.
The AHF Self-Operated Support (SOS) Program
The AHF SOS Program was developed and launched in 2020 as a real-time line of defense for facilities under threat. It provides operators with the ability to connect with our Self Op Team for live-support. Operators can contact AHF for support in the follow situations:
1. Operations being threatened by contractors, or may be in the near future, and in need of help
2. Operations that are currently self-operated, but must prove their value
3. Operations that are exploring, or in the process of becoming, self-operated
4. Systems with hybrid structures (some contract facilities, some self-operated) looking to transition some, or all, facilities from contract to self-operated management
Once an operator contacts AHF we activate our SOS team and reach out within 24 hours to set up a call. Following the call AHF will provide tools and resources to fit the operators need. Should the situation require further expertise, the operator would be connected to one of our CPAP (Consultants Partners Assistance Program) firms for a free hour of support.
Not a member, or know who someone isn’t a member, and need support?
The program is available to both member facilities AND non-member facilities. AHF’s mission is to keep foodservice inhouse. We are happy to connect with system or facility directors seeking to go self-operated, or even non-members operators in danger of a contractor takeover. Anyone can reach out through our SOS Program.
