AHF Honors Randy Sparrow With Lifetime Achievement Award
The Association for Healthcare Foodservice (AHF) announced Randy Sparrow is the winner of its 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedication and endless efforts to educate patients and retail customers about the important link between nutrition and overall health. The award was presented at the AHF 2019 Annual Conference at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona.
“For consistently achieving a high level of patient service, employee satisfaction, and prudent financial management while demonstrating an ability to adapt to meet new challenges and pave the way for new solutions that improve the care to those he serves in the ProHealth Care System, Randy is an inspired choice for this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award,” said AHF President Martha Rardin, Director, Nutrition and Dietetics at Hendricks Regional Health.
“I am truly humbled to receive the AHF Lifetime Achievement Award,” said Randy Sparrow. “It’s impossible to receive this accolade without so many extraordinary people behind the scenes helping to make it happen.”
Randy is the System Director for ProHealth Care in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He is currently responsible for the operations of the Food and Nutrition Services department in addition to the Environmental Services for the 411 bed Pro Health Care system which include Waukesha Memorial Hospital, Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, Angel's Grace, UW Health Cancer Center at Pro Health Care, Pro Health Care Corporate Offices Riverwood, and 17 Clinics. Randy is accountable for daily operations, and the planning and implementing of multiple programs including room service, personnel management, staff training and development, policy administration, purchasing, marketing of services, nutrition education, budget compliance, sanitation, and adherence to the standards of hospital and regulatory agencies. His total managed volume is $14.8 million with 275 employees.
