KZVDFuSNSNGS1FyHBOPu_Dave-M.jpgArlington, VA – August 20, 2020 – The Association for Healthcare Foodservice (AHF) today announced that Dave Reeves, Director, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has won the AHF Lifetime Achievement Award. The award was presented Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 3:30 pm ET at AHF’s 2020 Virtual Conference Award Ceremony. AHF’s annual awards program is a mechanism to identify and highlight members of the AHF community and self-operated foodservice industry for their achievements. It is a prestigious honor to receive an award.

Dave began his career at Edward-Elmhurst Health in Chicago starting as a food service supervisor in 1992 and advancing to Director of Hospitality Services leading Food, EVS and Laundry Services until 2016. Since that time, he has been serving as the Director of Culinary Foodservice for St. Jude Children's Hospital.

He has served in a variety of capacities in AHF from committee chair to President. He is a tireless volunteer and willing to take on any challenge.  Dave is also a strong supporter of the culinary competition. Teams from both Elmhurst and St. Jude have won the prestigious AHF culinary competition gold medal.

Dave’s contributions to the self-operated foodservice industry and AHF are many. His work ethic, commitment, data-driven, and people-centered approaches have made a lasting impact for others.

The Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to Dave Reeves, is AHF's highest award. It recognizes operator members who best exemplify the leadership and spirit of Jacques Bloch and Angelo Gagliano, the founders of our legacy organizations. The award was presented by AHF Past Presidents, Julie Jones and Randy Sparrow at AHF’s Virtual Conference. The Awards Ceremony was attended by industry professionals, including healthcare foodservice operators, business partners, family, friends, and colleagues of the awards winners.

In response to hearing he had won the award, Dave said, “It is such an honor. I’ve been fortunate to have such an outstanding career. This award though, is really more about the teams that I’ve had the privilege to lead and the staff that have been able to do the day-to-day work and really deliver results to our organizations.”
