AHF Honors Martha Rardin With Industry Lifetime Achievement Award

Foodservice System Director and mentor celebrated for her 42 year career

 

Washington, D.C. – September 1, 2021 –The Association for Healthcare Foodservice (AHF) announced on August 25, 2021, at it’s 2021 Annual Conference in Dallas, TX, that Martha Rardin of Hendricks Regional Health is the winner of the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award. The Award is in recognition of her 42-year career in the healthcare foodservice industry during which she mentored many, served as an example of exemplary leadership, and dedicated her life and career to caring for her staff and patients.

“Martha’s track record speaks for itself, she is a strong and passionate leader whom I feel is the ultimate role model for all current and future leaders in our industry,” said AHF President, Ryan Conklin, Director and Executive Chef at UNC REX Healthcare.

“I am honored and humbled to receive AHF’s Lifetime Achievement Award,” said Martha Rardin. “I have enjoyed a wonderful career in healthcare foodservice and to be honored by my peers is amazing. Serving AHF in several different roles has been rewarding and to be honored with this award is the highlight of my career. The support I have received from my employer, Hendricks Regional Health, and AHF has been key to the success my department and I have enjoyed.”

Martha is the Director of Nutrition and Dietetics for Hendrick Regional Health in Denville, Indiana. Hendrick Regional Health is a 160-bed community hospital. The Nutrition and Dietetics Department serves 1000 meals per day and prepares meals for the Hendricks Country Senior Center and Meals on Wheels program. Martha has worked for Hendricks Regional Health care 35 years. She has a reputation in her organization as a leader that gets the job done. She has a history of volunteerism and recognitions, both national and local, that span across her career. “I can confidently say that Martha has made a tremendous difference, and we are the ones privileged to have Martha working in the healthcare foodservice industry” stated David Reeves of Lee Health and the chair of the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award Committee.
