  • AHF Conducts Outreach to Houston-area Members

AHF is reaching out to Houston-area Members affected by this week’s catastrophic flooding.

Hurricane Harvey, and the historic flooding that followed, has left tens of thousands without food or shelter in the Houston area. Many facilities and hospitals have been threatened by the rising water.

Not only have the foodservice staff been overwhelmed by the sheer volume and duration of the workload, many have flooded homes, and distressed families themselves.

In response to this crisis, a group of AHF Operator Members, the Black Hat Chefs, have committed to serving meals to Houston-area residents devastated by the floods.

The Mercy Chefs—a faith-based, non-profit disaster relief organization—are on the ground, serving Houston residents, first responders, and anyone who needs a warm meal.

If you are interested in contributing to Mercy Chefs go to their website and make a donation.

The clean-up and work to help Houston has just begun! In the upcoming days AHF will create a volunteer network where AHF members, eager and able to serve, will be connected to Houston-area members who need a helping hand.

At the heart of AHF is community, solidarity and support. Thank you for all the calls and emails asking how to help!
